Updated every two years, the Draft Shasta 2018 Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) has new money available to it. Two new projects: Redding Downtown to Turtle Bay Non-Motorized Improvements ($1.4 million); and North Redding Six Lane ($1.2 million) have been proposed with RTIP monies. Additionally, SRTA is proposing adding $1.2 million to assist covering cost increases for the I-5 Redding to Anderson Six-Lane Phase 1 Project which languished in the prior RTIP and state budget crisis. Another project, the I-5 Redding to Anderson Six Lane Phase 2 Project, has Caltrans proposing a combination of prior year RTIP funds with State Highway Operation and Protection Program, as well as Trade Corridor Enhancement Program (TCEP), funding. TCEP will be derived through implementation of the 2017 passage of Senate Bill 1.
